Black-Owned Skincare Brands To Support

Hello beautiful people!

Coming to you with my second post of the week. I know it’s summer and most people don’t really go around looking ashy anymore but I just want to make sure all our skins are looking good and hydrated. I am especially excited because I’m about to introduce you to a couple of brands whose owners are Togolese. I love to seeing people win, but I even get excited when those people are from my country Togo. So excuse me if I brag just a little, lol.

I recently found out about Alaffia products and they are in major retail stores like Target, Walmart, and Whole Foods. I recently purchased the coconut reishi hand and body lotion and let me tell you that this lotion smells amazing and moisturize the skin within leaving it oily or anything. Although a lot of their products are made from shea butter, I just wanted to try something different, but I’ll probably try more of their products in the future. They have a wide variety of products from hair care, to body care, and baby products as well. As I mentioned in previous post, I wanted to become more intentional about the way I spend my money and I love investing in black-owned business especially those who reinvest in their community. If you follow Alaffia’s social media page, you’ll see how they are a social brand very much vested in their communities whether it being in Togo or here in the United States.

Itadi Body: Another brand I recently stumbled upon on social media is the Itadi Body which is another black-owned and Togolese brand. I purchased the entire system which consist of the face wash, the toner and the moisturizer. The products come as a system but you can also purchase one of each. I just figured it makes sense to purchase the system to get the most out of it. I can’t wait to give you reviews after I use it for some time. From the brand social media page, it is said that they use coffee berry from their farms in Togo and also stating that coffee great levels of antioxidants. It’s no surprise that the brand also has a coffee brand with the same name Itadi Coffee. I am super super excited about my new finds and cannot wait to try. Follow me on Instagram for my reviews and impressions. If you’d like to join me in checking out this brand, purchase your products on their website.

Cheers to a happy weekend!

xoxo,

Chida
